This weekend I gave up the gay rodeo in Philly to work on school stuff. Read about plastics and nervous tissue.
Had the final chemistry test on Monday. Received 105. Now she can drop my 98. Handed in my research paper that I finally put together on Tuesday while sitting out on the deck in the sun.
Anatomy & Physiology final was also taken. Did a bunch of studying with Willie, and a bit with Thanysha. I know us boys did well.
Professor was very late for psychology. Listened to the rest of the presentations. It was miscellaneous topics like Puerto Rico, Cricket, College Transferring, International Law on Refugees, Gay Adoption and Global Warming.

In A&P we learned about synapses. Willie and I decided to try out a chinese place for lunch. I wasn't that impressed with it though.
Got a couple of work outs in, folded clothes and mopped and cleaned the bathrooms. Patrick had messed up the toilet really badly. He was violently ill at about two in the morning on Thursday. I had made meatloaf, and Chuck & Julio came over earlier to partake, before the C2 met. I haven't heard that they've gotten sick, and I've been fine, so maybe it was something else. Patrick still went to work yesterday, and hasn't had other instances. I gave him some immodium tablets. I made chicken noodle soup yesterday to see if that might help.
Grey's Anatomy contained a sad gay military moment.
I finalized my choreo writing for Berkshires.

Monday's class dealt with more redox reactions and touched on organic chemistry. A&P had action potential of nerves.
We also dissected a sheep's brain. This wasn't nearly as exciting as the little piglet from last month. We tried peeling off the pia mater from the cerebrum. It's pretty well attached. We did remove the pituitary gland. We then did a sagittal cut through the corpus collosum to expose the tree of life.
Made burritos for dinner in honor of cinco de mayo. TV followed.
Patrick hit Trenton again for Grand Jury.
I did my presentation today in psychology. I sat on the teacher's desk, stuck my hand up my shirt and proceeded to tell the class that my research paper was on methods of masturbation. After they made little vocalizations and perked up, I told them that I wanted to get their attention, and that attention was part of the major criteria in memory. My research was on prevention of memory loss. I will be posting it eventually for those that are interested.
Renewed library books on my next research paper (for Chemistry), and had lunch with Guillermo at Great Kahn's. Today it came with free hot and spicy chicken soup. Patrick caught me napping when he got home. I read some A&P later, and we had another C4 workshop. Steve was back in town. Robert stayed a bit to chat afterward.

On my way home from school today, I watched various teachers/mothers help their kindergarten class cross the street. One would stop traffic and stand in the way while all the little tykes slowly traversed the crosswalk while the cars waited. It reminded me of a mother duck with her chicks.
A yellow jacket was in my way for the second day as I retreived the mail. I noticed that it was building a small nest in the upper left corner. After getting the mail out, it flew away and I used the opportunity to remove the little chitlinous home. I only felt a little bad for it.

This didn't lend itself very well to a 'read aloud' book. I wasn't always sure who was speaking, as it lacked quotes and apostrophes. The main characters did not even have names or descriptions so I found that I didn't care about them as much as I thought I should have. Sure, you are rooting for them to survive in this grave wasteland of America. But I wanted to care for them more than I did. Many stories will make me cry, and this one did not.
It paints a very bleak picture of post-war life, and is certainly not optimistic about anything.
At least it read pretty quickly. When there was dialogue, it consisted of:
Are you okay?
I'm okay.
Okay.
Okay.
It also goes against my science courses that say that children must have sunlight to grow. Okay. Enough.

Bob Seigel was in town and popped in on the C2 workshop.
Thursday I worked out, pulled weeds, hung up an optical illusion picture, and continued to spend too much times dealing with iTunes.
I made a lamb vegetable casserole which came out well.
Found out there is a Geo on Ugly Betty.
My Nancy LaMott package arrived. They've put out a new double CD from live radio performances that Nancy had given Jonathon Schwartz as gifts. What was really cool though is that her first DVD is out. This contains a bunch of live clips from 1978 until right before her death of cancer in 1995. I had never had the privilege of seeing Nancy perform live, but became a major fan through her CDs.
It's interesting to watch the progression of various stages in her career. She was just crossing over from being a cabaret artist to becoming a national celebrity. Visit NancyLaMott to purchase the new set for yourself. Some of the DVD sound isn't the best, but I thought it was worth it for the chance to see her perform. It also includes an interview from Broadway Beat in 1994. She talks about how exciting it was to perform in the White House for the Clintons.

It's a musical with music by John Bucchino, but there is no dancing, and the tunes are not hummable. It's more a drama with some sung dialogue. It is set in the Bronx in 1953. A family hears of their dead son, killed in the war. The daughter wants a simple wedding. The father wants a taxi, and the uncle is gay.
Key players consist of Harvey Fierstein, Faith Prince, Tom Wopat and Matt Cavenaugh. The characters are very moving and real for the time period. Financial problems and stereotypes exist. I particularly loved the ladies gossiping out their apartment windows while attending to drying laundry. It was a nice night out, but I don't think it was worth full price tickets.

Began learning about nervous tissue. Both Guillermo and I got 100 on our muscle test.
Finalized research paper. Have not had to present it yet. Returned library books on memory and took some out on plastic.
Tried to register for Fall courses. I still need to get the chemistry approval.
Allergies have been hell!
Did Spring vacuuming and several loads of laundry.
Naps continue and a bit of TV.
Choreo for Berkshires and home workshops.
Made hamburger barley soup again.
Began working out again!
Last Tuesday, I accompanied Willie to Paramus for his visit with the laser eye doctor. Had lunch at the mall. This past Sunday he came over for a shrimp dinner and we watched Hairspray, the movie musical. I forgot how cute James Marsden was.
Patrick has had to make two trips to Trenton. He's been selected for Grand Jury and cannot discuss anything. He must go one day for at least 20 weeks.
Friday night we went to dance to the Times Squares to dance to Todd Fellegy. Many of the Wednesday night workshop were NOT in attendance though. :( Afterward, Colin came over and we watched Enchanted. I thought it was cute.
Spent Saturday filing. Taught Soakin Wet at the BAR. Met Tall Paul with Josh. We later watched 6 episodes of Rick and Steve, plastic homosexual cartoons - very un-PC.

We left to attend the 11th anniversary of the Big Apple Ranch.
Last weekend we had our workshop in Gaithersburg. Took about two extra hours to get down due to construction traffic. I called a bit, and Chuck M. is crazy and makes everyone smile. Wink. Robert had to leave early to take care of his sister, and Dan wasn't feeling so great. Janet's soba noodles were interesting.
Went out to Remingtons.
This past Tuesday we had our second C4 workshop of the year. The Mayers are back in town. We'll see how far this goes.
Chuck & Julio joined in on this week's C2.
Tonight we're going to dance to Todd.

Two Tuesdays ago, Patrick and I went to see Roundabout’s revival of Sondheim’s art show. I have Bernadette and Mandy on DVD, but have never seen the show live. I think the set and lighting stole the show. Computer graphics help to bring the canvas of a blank stage to life. Curtains become trees and can be eliminated at will. Yapping dogs show up in smaller frames.
Besides the two leads, it was a nice surprise to see Jessica Molaskey as well. I have her on a couple CDs. On a side note, we ran into Robert from GNI prior to dinner, and yoga David at the show.
While I’ve always liked art in school, this was one of the first shows that actually took me deeper into a famous painting. Seurat’s A Sunday Afternoon on the

Naps have occurred.
There have been two Wednesdays of C2. Tuesdays continue to lack eight bodies.
I have completed my tax returns and filed Federal and NJ. I owe NYC. 2008 will contain a MAJOR income drop. We filed Married filing Separately for NJ, and NY let me deduct my tuition.
Patrick had the TV on and while reading psychology I saw Dancing with the Stars and Samantha Who?

Snuck into mom's after 1AM, and we went out to breakfast at Mary's in the morning. Gene treated. Also got to see Uncle Bob for a few minutes. He can hardly walk, and does not like driving distances. I told him he looked a bit purple. He's been too cheap to pay for heat all the time, and has suffered frostbite on his nose, hands and feet.
We left early to get Kim and Ciara back to Queens since we had another function in NYC to get back to.

My mind immediately went to all kinds of bad things. Who is suing him? What shady deal is he a part of that I have no knowledge of? Was there an accident? Is he wanted for something?
It was only to deliver a summons for Grand Jury. I said "They are using you guys to deliver jury duty notices now?". He replied that since it's GRAND jury, it has more importance.

Patrick went to do something on the old Quantex and now it doesn't boot up at all. The smell of electrical circuitry is present also. I have taken to disassembling it and fixing up the station for my laptop. I have not been successful in creating a network to the external hard drive though.
I had lunch with Guillermo on Tuesday, and then headed to the campus library to continue work on my research paper.
Patrick and I watched some TV on Tuesday night. On AI, David did an amazing arrangement of Billie Jean. National Lampoon's Dorm Daze kept us occupied for the rest of the evening.
I've been reading psychology. I have to interview Patrick and do a paper on that for next Tuesday. I've also begun studying for my next A&P test.
Last night I made pork chops with a mustard sauce (including pickles and scallions) and a rice-barley pilaf to accompany it. It was surprisingly good.
I called C2 last night as well. I mentioned Invert as a tagging call. We will be dancing in the Poconos this Saturday.

We both went to bed with no luck in getting Henry back in.
In the morning I got up early, got dressed and figured I'd scour around the block with the hopes of finding him. He used to go outside a lot when we lived on a different block and had back yard access. Now, while our street is quiet, it does have large trucks that utilize it. I was worried.
I walked about calling his name, and finally heard a reply. He wouldn't come out so I followed his mewling. I found him under a neighbor's wooden fence. It looked like he was stuck, but I didn't think so. His pupils were dilated with fright and he was glad to get back in the house.
Do I think he's learned his lesson about dashing out the door? No.

Our normal weekend here consists of dancing, eating and sleeping and this was no different. There were no live callers this time, but I did get to dance to myself on tape.
Some of our meals consisted of beef and black bean chili, shrimp creole, tomato basil soup of red lentils and salad with fresh grilled tuna - a first for me, and I actually liked it.
We tried to get to a party that
Instead, we ended up at Remington's a lot earlier than we would have.
