No Folsom Street East - Yes Remingtons

FSE has been on Father's Day for the last several years.  I made the assumption it would be again, and booked a square dance workshop in Gaithersburg for the weekend following.  Unfortunately for me, it's been moved this year.  The calendar has really been f...ing things up.  Anyway, I will miss a lovely day of running into friends from NY and elsewhere.  We will get back too late to attend.  Here's a shot of me last year with a singing porn star.

For those of you in the DC area - we will make it out two-stepping on Saturday night!

I understand that it's Daddy's Day this Sunday.

Who's gonna be out on 28th Street for the leather pride street fair of FSE?

Big Apple Ranch – Leather/Levis

Slept in a bit on Saturday, did some LJ posting, cleaned the master bathroom and continued on my iPod updating.

Patrick helped me wrap Christmas presents. This weekend I visit with Dad, my stepmom, and one sister with 3 kids. Will it never end?

Anyway, I think I had the largest class ever at the Ranch. There were probably almost 100 people just for the 8PM basic two-step class! The theme was leather meets levis and it was a benefit for the NYC Gay Men’s Chorus. Hopefully, my nervousness did not come across.

I’m certain more people were there for the chorus, than leather, since it seemed that leather was limited. I wore my chaps over jeans, but found that too hot so eventually removed my shirt to help neutralize the heat.

I meet new people each time I’m there. Some people continue coming and become regulars, while others are a one shot deal (even though they say they love it). LJers in attendance (that I know of) were [info]bearfuz, [info]jmy1tenor, [info]poodler, [info]spot_brooklyn and [info]wonderboyny. I got dances in with all but Paul who disappeared early. Sorry I didn’t get to chat more with him and Glen, but there was a huge crowd, and between the dancing and picking up bottles, the night goes by fast.

Caution

With the end of year/beginning of year work, I have gotten quite behind in LJ land.  I still plan on responding to those who commented on my "Friend Post".  My stress level should be going down a bit now that the holidays are passed and we've gotten beyond week 1.  I hope to catch up reading.

Meanwhile, this past weekend we were mostly away at Mom's where there is no computer service.  I can barely get a phone signal.  Still a lot to do at the job front, so this is brief, but wanted to let you know I'm here.

MAL is this weekend.  Who's going?

Saturday's Activities

Saturday morning I slept later than I really wanted to. Woke up and got in another portion of a work out. I then cut my hair.

We dropped one of our pendant light fixtures off in the lighting district. We have an interior glass on order.

Gil and Augie were also there, and we decided to do dinner together at the White Horse. I had never been, but it was recommended. They say it's better during the week. The Saturday crowd is loud.

Seeing as there are so many LJers that live in SF, and that many people are coming in to town - can we get someone local to designate a time and place on Sunday during the fair where all us LJ folk can congregate for a 'live meeting'?
